That Legal Weed

Ever wonder what it’s like to buy legal weed in Nevada and Cali? Personally I had to find..and what I found out was…

It’s awesome! Literally like a dream come true! A potheads paradise! To tell you a little about it, I’m just going to answer the questions I’ve been getting here at home like:

Where did you buy the weed? What did you get? How much did it cost?

I bought everything from dispensaries. The 1st one that popped my cherry was Jenny’s in Las Vegas, Nevada. When you first walk in you give them your ID. An out of state ID is not an issue. While they verify it’s real you’re asked to sit on the couch and wait a few minutes.

Those few minutes I’ll never forget. We already know I’m not use to buying “legal” weed and usually this transaction is way more secretively handled, you know?!?! Not to mention I had eaten some THC gummies on the plane ride over a few hours earlier:

So while I’m sitting there waiting, I see a cop! And in my mind I’m thinking, “This is a set up!”

But then they called my name and I walk through the doors to the candy store! It was as if the gates of heaven had just opened before my eyes! They have everything!!

On this, my 1st experience, I picked up some White Widow, Purple Trainwreck, 6 pre-rolls and some Space Ghost live resin crystals:

All labeled telling you how much THC, CBD, who grew it, where, when and so much more! I love that part, being able to know exactly all the details about what your smoking.

The next morning, bright and early, was time to ride out for Cali while smoking on some Vegas White Widow:

There I went my favorite of all the dispensaries, One Love Beach Club in Long Beach, California. Where I got some Under Dog:

OG Crumble:

Some pre-rolls:

And my absolute favorite this Extreme-Lee live resin cartridge:

I did go to a few other dispensaries where I also picked up some Lucid Oils Dab Syrup , other weed strains, edibles and some shatter!

As for pricing and finding dispensaries in which ever parts of Nevada or California you might like to visit. I’ll say this, I spent on average around $80 at each stop. What I did, being a tourist out of my element, was I made an account with GreenRush and used my own promo code:

Which uses your location to tell you what’s in the area, where are the deals and it took $20 off my first order. I saved some cash and time by ordering online a few times. Other times, like my 1st time, I was just a walk-in and I do recommend being a walk-in a few times too because it’s an experience that I absolutely loved!

The entire trip was lit! If you haven’t visited a recreational state yet, you totally should. It’s so freeing of an experience and I just can’t wait for everybody to legalize nationwide!

Lead by Example: Healthy Smoking Habits for the Kids

The question isn’t will my kids smoke weed, it’s when and how? Because we all know it’s inevitable. My hope however is that the new generation strictly vapes. Because vaping is healthier. And we want the best for our kids don’t we?

These are the facts, cannabis isn’t bad for you, it’s actually great and has lots of benefits. But the act of smoking is. When one smokes harsh toxins are released that can damage your lungs and cause cancer. Haven’t you ever felt like a blunt was harsh on you?

I’ve smoked a lot of blunts, and still do.  But I’ve switched to hemp wraps instead of tobacco blunts because all those Phillies, Swishers and Garcia Vegas were getting too harsh on my throat. Though I do see a significant difference with hemp wraps, there are motivating reasons for the new generation to want to vape instead of smoke:

  1. The cannabis oils and concentrates, which is what you’d vape, are stronger and more potent. Giving you that high feeling faster and more efficiently.
  2. There’s barely any odor which means vaping weed makes it less likely you’ll get caught.
  3. You don’t need a lighter meaning no risk of breathing in any butane or noxious gases from your lighter, starting a fire or worse yet someone stealing your lighter. (joking on that last part)
  4. Vape pens deliver clean vapor packed with THC eliminating the smoking risks.
  5. And you save money because vapes last much longer.

Vaping is the way to go for sure. But this how I see things going down with my kids. They are going to want to try smoking. Their mother is Smokette after all and they’ll probably try to smoke my stash.

My plan? To have plenty of hemp wraps to roll, hemp wick to light and vape pens to “smoke” right there along side my stash that definitely includes cannabis oils. Because we can’t control other people, not even our own kids, but we can lead by example, preach and share healthier pothead habits. And most importantly, love them no matter what.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the stoner mommies out there and as always stay lit!

Cuban Tech

This Hialeah raised team is killing it on the west coast with their bad ass hash!

It’s true the Instagram names “Cuban grower” and “Qban hash queen” was what originally grabbed my attention, I am biased and tend to naturally be drawn towards anything with the word “Cuban” in it, being one and all. But these guys have got skillzzzzzzzz…

Seeing is believing so let’s just do a little show and tell here:

Cookies and Cream single source water hash grown by the Cuban Hash Queen and separated by Cubans Full Melt

Mint Chocolate Chip live resin also grown by the Cuban Queen hashed by the Cuban Grower

Headstash pressed out by the Cuban Grower

And now the Cuban Grower is managing the new Critical 710 California facility  and here it the first ever Critical x Cuban sauce collaboration

These guys are living the dream, or at least my dream.  This year their Cookies and Cream Drysift won 3rd in the High Times SoCal Cannabis Cup for non-solvent hash.  In 2016 their Black Mamba drysift won 2nd in NorCal and Cookies and Cream won 1st in Michigan.  As the Cuban Grower said on Instagram:

damn it feels good to be a gangster

I’d love to join the squad. The day your hiring let me know I’ll pack up and head west asap.

And for all you dab, shatter, live resin, hash fans if you see this face on a banner:

They got fire!

There’s a lot more to Weed than just Smoking it

Cannabis, weed, ganja, pot, whatever you call it. If you smoke it or not you know it gets you high. And when it comes to drug test all we worry about is THC. But there’s a lot more to weed than just smoking it and THC is only one of the several cannabinoids found in this beauty of a plant….

Our bodies actually house what is known as the the endogenous cannabinoid system: “Endocannabinoids and their receptors are found throughout the body: in the brain, organs, connective tissues, glands, and immune cells. In each tissue, the cannabinoid system performs different tasks, but the goal is always the same: homeostasis, the maintenance of a stable internal environment despite fluctuations in the external environment.”

This plant has power! And it is a cure to so many different illnesses that it’s astonishing! And that’s all thanks those these wonderful things called cannabinoids.

THC (Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol) the one we are most familiar with has it’s psychoactive properties that get us high but CBD (cannabidiol ) can stop cancer.

Actually several cannabinoids found in marijuana have demonstrated the ability to stop cancer angiogenesis and metastasis, while inducing apoptosis. Cannabidiol (CBD) has shown to be the most effective so far.

In English, cannabinoids prevent cancer cells from growing and spreading, then makes them commit suicide.

There’s :

  • CBN : Which is actually a breakdown product of the famous THC. It helps us sleep, increases our appetite, is an anti-convulsion, anti-inflammatory, is even an antibiotic, it helps with pain, burns and more.
  • THCA :The precursor to THC and a great reason to try a raw cannabis smoothie!  Because not only does it help you not vomit, not get bitten by bugs and happens to be a great anti-inflammatory, Raw THCA is an antioxidant! And can prevent cancer and possibly Parkinson’s Disease.
  • CBG : With it’s antibacterial effects is known to kill or slow bacterial growth, reduce inflammation, (particularly in its acidic CBGA form,) inhibit cell growth in tumor/cancer cells, and promote bone growth.

And when looking at the medical benefits to marijuana it’s important to know that all it’s components work together to create this wonderful thing known as the “entourage effect” that magnifies the therapeutic benefits of the plant’s individual components.

Consider terpenes for example. There’s an aromatherapy aspect to weed too because the delicious scent it carries is all thanks to the predominate terpenes in its’ strain.

Marijuana’s bouquet of terpenes—that “riot of perfumes,” as the poet (and hashish-eater) Arthur Rimbaud once said—plays another important role.

Terpenoids and cannabinoids both increase blood flow, enhance cortical activity and kills respiratory pathogens. When it comes to choosing which strain is right for you, it’s recommended that “the nose knows.” If you like how it smells, your probably going to like the effect. There are over 200 different terpenes: linalool, myreene, delta 3, etc. My favorite being  Limonene, with it’s citrus smell, found in white widow, along with:

And then we have the concentrates! Rosin, live resin, Co2, Pho…

According to High Times, “The rosin revolution is real”

Concentrated cannabis products, such as shatter, wax, pre-filled vape pens and related extracts are in incredible demand across the country. And if you have already tried it then you know why! For me I need so little to get such a huge impact! And that’s because buds, typically contain between 10-20 percent THC (getting as potent as about 30 percent, in rare cases), in contrast concentrates can offer between 60-95 percent THC, making for a much more efficient way to get your medicine. For more on concentrates I recommend Mass Roots.

There’s a lot to know about cannabis and how it helps us. I’m not an expert and so I have provided several links throughout this post for you to get more info. In conclusion I hope that what you get out of this is that I put everything together for you. The cannabinoids, terpenes, concentrates, endocannabinoid system, and the entourage effect. I didn’t go into great detail about each, because I’m not an expert, instead I just provided you with the links. Like an all in one everything you should know about weed grocery list in a way. The cannabis movement is something that’s very important to me and I just wanted to put it out there that weed does way more than just get you high and we should all try to educate ourselves to the best of our ability.
